Hi, my name is Meggan and I have always been a maker! I am a native New Yorker, born in Queens and now living in the historic hamlet of South Jamesport , NY, on the North Fork of Long Island.
I enjoy making things that are beautiful and also functional. I was introduced to the art of picassiette in 1995. I was immediately enamored with the patterns and colors of the vintage dishes used to make these mosaics and it fit right in with my love of treasure hunting, and repurposing discarded, neglected furniture. For me picassiette is whimsical and playful and my designs often take shape while I am making a piece. My biggest motivation to create has always been to make things for other people and to beautify my home.
Picassiette is intriguing and I have seen through the years how people’s faces light up when they see a piece and ask me how it’s made. If you are curious and would like to try your hand I am thrilled to introduce you to this art form.
